You can stretch their life with some love. Rescue them with a vinegar rinse. Soak them in hot water with a splash of white vinegar for ten minutes, then dry them on high heat. This re-felts the fibers and wakes them up. Think of it as a spa day for your laundry accessories.
Also, don’t overload your dryer. Your balls need room to roam. Stuff them in a packed dryer and they’ll just get squished into a corner, crying. Give them space to bounce around like a toddler on a sugar rush.
The “I’m Fine” Phase
You’ll go through a denial phase. The balls look a bit tired, but you tell yourself, “They’re fine, I’m fine, everything’s fine.” Then you pull out a load of static-clingy socks and realize you’ve been gaslighting yourself. Trust the signs. Your laundry deserves better.
When in doubt, buy a fresh set. They’re cheap. Like, twelve bucks for a six-pack. That’s less than a decent sandwich. And a new set will make you feel like a laundry genius again. Your clothes will be fluffier, static-free, and you’ll wonder why you ever waited so long.
