You know what doesn’t expire? Glass bottles. They don’t leach chemicals. They don’t degrade. But we don’t use them because they’re heavy and break easily.
So we choose convenience over purity. And then we worry about expiration dates.
That’s the punchline: the date isn’t for the water. It’s for us. To remind us that plastic is a temporary friend, and that everything—even water in a bottle—has a shelf life for a reason.
So drink up. But maybe don’t drink that bottle from 2017. Not because it’s dangerous. Because it’s sad.
