If you’re asking about the most recent season? That would be Xochitl Gomez and her pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy. Yes, America’s sweetheart from Marvel actually took home the Mirrorball Trophy.
She danced circles around everyone. And I mean literal circles, plus some spins that would make a figure skater dizzy. The girl could move.
But wait—are you asking about a specific season? Like, the one where Jennifer Grey won? Or when Bindi Irwin made us all sob? The answer changes!
Let’s Rewind to the Classics
Season one feels like a fever dream now. Kelly Monaco won, and no one really knew what a foxtrot was. She was the original queen, and she beat out the General Hospital guy, which was a big deal.
Then came seasons where Emmitt Smith (the football legend) proved he had more than just a good arm. And Helio Castroneves (the race car driver) showed us that speed translates to the dance floor, apparently.
But the most controversial wins? Oh, honey, we have to talk about them. Bobby Bones winning in 2018 basically broke the internet. People were furious! He didn’t even look like he was trying, and yet… he won. Chaos.
