So, where is the protest in London today? The honest answer is: everywhere and nowhere. It’s outside a government building, or blocking a bridge, or happening right now in a square you walked past this morning. You smell the faint scent of chanting and barbecued hot dogs from a food stall that set up nearby.
The trick is to not panic. The protest will probably end by 3pm when everyone gets tired and wants a pint. If you see a lot of people wearing matching T-shirts and carrying portable speakers, just take a different street. You’ll be fine.
And if you’re the one asking “Where is the protest?” because you actually want to join it? Well, just follow the sound of the drum circle and the smell of patchouli. You can’t miss it. It’s the loudest, most colourful traffic jam you’ll ever lose an hour to.
Just remember: bring a waterproof sign. It’s London, after all.
