Here’s where it gets spooky and fun. In the 1800s, a workman accidentally broke through the vault floor! They found Henry’s massive lead coffin, and right next to it, the tiny coffin of Jane Seymour. When they looked inside, they saw a skeleton and a tuft of red hair.

And then, they did something absolutely bizarre. They accidentally dropped a heavy piece of wood on the vault. It broke through a different section, and they discovered a second vault inside the first one. Yes, a vault-ception. The Victorian workmen got so spooked they sealed it all up and never opened it again. Talk about a royal party trick.
What This Means for You (Yes, You)
So, why should you care where a 500-year-old king is buried? Because it’s a brilliant reminder that life is delightfully unpredictable. Even the most powerful man in England couldn’t control his own final resting place.
You can actually visit St. George’s Chapel today. Stand on that simple stone slab. Lean in close. It’s the same floor that Henry VIII walked on, and now he’s six feet below you, sharing a grave with his favorite wife and a bunch of shattered stone angels. It’s weirdly romantic, isn’t it?
