But what about city water? That comes from rivers or lakes. It then goes to a treatment plant. They run it through filters and add a tiny bit of chlorine to kill germs. Then they push it through pipes straight to your sink.
Fun fact: the water pressure in your pipes is strong enough to launch a watermelon. Don’t test that. Just know the water arrives with serious attitude.
Bottled Water Drama
Bottled water? Here’s the kicker. Up to 40% of bottled water is just tap water. Yeah, that fancy “spring water” might come from a municipal supply. They put it in a bottle and charge you 2,000 times more.
Even the “glacial” stuff isn’t from a fresh glacier. Most is filtered through rocks and then packaged. You’re paying for a label, not a magical mountain spring.
