Timing is everything. Magic mushrooms don’t grow year-round. They’re seasonal divas.
In most of the northern hemisphere, autumn is peak season—think September through November. But in warmer, wetter climates, like the Pacific Northwest or parts of the UK, you might find them as early as late summer.
Check the weather forecast: a few days of rain followed by a warm spell (around 60-70°F) is the perfect recipe. Mother Nature is basically a bakery, and the mushrooms are the bread rising.
Pro tip: go foraging right after a rainstorm. The ground will be soft, and the mushrooms will be plump and happy. Just don’t forget a rain jacket. You’re not a mushroom.
