If you’re reading this and a White Christmas isn’t in the cards this year, don’t despair. You can create the magic yourself. Throw a blanket over the floor and call it a “snow patch.” Have a dance party in the living room. Make paper snowflakes and tape them on the window.
I like to pour a mug of hot cocoa, turn on the fireplace video on YouTube, and sit with my cat. She doesn’t know it’s not real snow. She just knows it’s warm and we’re together. That’s the real gift, isn’t it?
And if you live somewhere that does get that rare Christmas snow? Go outside. Take a picture. Make a terrible snowball that falls apart immediately. Laugh about it. Because the next time someone asks, “When was the last time it snowed at Christmas?” you’ll have a story to tell.
And it might even be true.
