Netflix hasn’t dropped a specific UK release date yet, but the tea leaves are promising. Series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has confirmed that Squid Game Season 3 is already in production, with filming wrapping in late 2026. Industry whispers point to a summer or autumn 2026 window for the UK.
Historically, Netflix loves a gap of about two to three years between seasons (Season 1 was 2026, Season 2 was 2026). So a 2026 release fits the pattern perfectly. Mark your calendars for a possible September or October drop—just in time for cosy nights in.
Why the Wait? Blame the Front Man
Creating a global phenomenon isn’t just about shooting marbles. The production team is painstakingly crafting new games, set pieces, and a deeper backstory for the mysterious Front Man. Each episode reportedly costs millions, with complex choreography and visual effects.
Also, let’s be real: actor Lee Jung-jae (Gi-hun) is now an Oscar-winning star. Coordinating his schedule with the ensemble cast takes serious diplomatic skill. Think of it as a VIP invitation you have to wait for—but the party will be wild.
