First, Aaron will probably do what retired legends do: gain ten pounds, show up at random Rams games looking bored, and maybe sell us some insurance. He’ll also have a ceremonial retirement with the Rams, where they’ll raise his number 99 to the rafters. That could happen as early as the 2026 season, actually. But the official Hall of Fame party? That’s a wait.

Can you imagine the speech? He’ll probably start by saying, “I just did my job.” And every lineman in the room will shudder. His speech will be short—he’s not a talker. He’ll probably thank his parents, his coaches, and maybe apologize to every quarterback he ever tackled. Just kidding. He won’t apologize for anything.
So mark your calendars for 2029. Set a reminder on your phone. Throw a little party. Maybe watch a highlight reel of him manhandling three offensive linemen at once while eating a sandwich. It’s the perfect excuse to gather your friends and say, “Remember when he did that? And that? And what about that?”
But Wait—What If He Unretires?
Haha, funny you ask. There’s always a chance, right? He’s only 33 (as of 2026). He could pull a Brett Favre or a Tom Brady and come back after a year off. If that happens, the Hall of Fame clock resets. The five-year countdown starts over. So if he unretires in 2026 for one more season, his eligibility date shifts to 2031 or later.
Do you think he’ll do it? Honestly, probably not. He’s talked about his body being wrecked. He’s got nothing left to prove. But hey, if the Rams call and say, “We need one more run, big guy,” and he’s bored on a Tuesday… who knows? I wouldn’t bet against him. But for now, let’s assume he’s done.
