It’s basically Christmas, but with less tinsel and more existential dread. Seriously, the UK grinds to a halt for this day. Schools open early, news helicopters hover, and your local café runs on pure caffeine and teenage anxiety.
You can set your watch by it. The annual tradition involves students sprinting to school in pajamas. Some cry. Some scream. One person will inevitably do a victory dance on the school lawn. That’s you, maybe.
The Magic Hour: 8am
Most schools open their doors at 8:00 AM sharp. But you won’t sleep at all the night before. Why would you? Your brain will be replaying every single exam answer like a broken record. “Did I really write that for question three? Oh no.”
Pro tip: Don’t check your email the night before. Some exam boards release results online after midnight. That’s a trap. You’ll refresh at 3am, see a grade, and then cry into your pillow for four hours. Not recommended.
