As the years went by, the Patriots moved to a new home stadium, Fenway Park, and later to Alumni Stadium. They even changed their name to the Bay State Patriots for a hot second, but thankfully, that didn't stick. It's like when you try out a new hairstyle, but then you're like, "Nah, I'm good with my old look."
The Patriots finally became the New England Patriots in 1971, and they joined the National Football League (NFL) as part of the AFL-NFL merger. It's kind of like when your favorite TV show gets rebooted, but instead of getting cancelled, it becomes even more popular!
So, why is it cool that the Patriots have been around for so long? Well, for one, they've had some legendary players and coaches over the years, like Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. It's like having a dream team that just keeps on winning!
