Because Lanzarote is so far south (it’s actually closer to Africa than to Spain), the days don’t change as much as you might expect. In summer, the sun rises around 6:45 AM and sets around 9:00 PM. In winter, it rises around 7:30 AM and sets around 5:30 PM. That’s a pretty consistent 10 to 11 hours of daylight. Honestly, it’s a dream for photographers, beach bums, and anyone who hates short, gloomy days. You won’t even notice the time difference because the sun is basically your personal assistant.
What About Jet Lag?
If you’re coming from a place with a major time difference (hello, USA and Australia), jet lag can sneak up on you. My advice? Don’t fight it. Lanzarote is the perfect place to ease into a new rhythm. Take a short nap. Go for a walk along the coast. Eat some local cheese. The island moves at a slow, happy pace. Your body will catch up eventually. And if it doesn’t? Well, there’s always coffee. Or sangría. Both are equally valid solutions.
