The meaning of septic is really “a system of decomposition,” whether it’s your body fighting an infection or your yard quietly recycling your morning coffee. It’s a word that reminds us that decay is part of life—and also that we should be very, very careful with “flushable” labels. So next time someone says their septic is acting up, smile and tell them you know the dirty secret. Then casually drop that fact about Finland, and watch them realize you’re the smartest person at this café.
And whatever you do, never flush a wipe. Your septic tank is watching. It always knows.
