Modern Woodmen of America has been around since 1883, and its roots are in the timber industry – hence the name "Woodmen". Back in the day, loggers and woodworkers would often face risks and dangers on the job, and this organization was formed to provide them with financial protection and support. Today, it's grown to become one of the largest fraternal organizations in the US.
Think of Modern Woodmen of America like a cooperative, where members work together to achieve common goals. By pooling their resources and supporting one another, members can enjoy benefits like scholarships, community grants, and volunteer opportunities. It's a win-win situation, where everyone gets to contribute and benefit from the collective effort.
