Right now, as I type this, Chris is probably on a train somewhere. He’s filming a new series of Extreme Railways—this time, he’s tackling the most dangerous lines in South America. Or maybe he’s just sat at home, watching Pointless and muttering, “I could have done that better.”
He’s also writing. He published a memoir a few years back called Tarrant: Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? And he’s hinted at another book about his train adventures. You know, just in case you wanted to read about the time his sleeper carriage caught fire in Burma.
Is He Still Grumpy? Of Course!
One thing hasn’t changed: Chris Tarrant is still gloriously grumpy. He complains about self-service checkouts, modern pop music, and the price of a cup of tea. But he does it with such charm that you can’t help but love him. He’s your favourite uncle who tells dodgy jokes at Christmas.
He’s even got a Twitter account where he shares his grumpy wisdom. “Why is there never a pen in a post office?” he once tweeted. It’s the small things that matter, Chris. We get it.
