Before you feel too sorry for the hare, remember they’re not victims. They’ve got rabbit punches that can break a fox’s ribs. They can swim across icy rivers. And their hind legs have a kick that would make a kangaroo jealous. One researcher saw a hare kick a weasel so hard it flew ten feet. (I’m not kidding. I wish I was.)
So next time you see a photo of a cute white hare, imagine it staring down a wolverine, a snowy owl, and a grizzly bear at the same time. It’s a badass survivor—and everyone’s favorite snack.
