Just when you think you’ll evaporate, the sky decides to flip the script. Out of nowhere, a massive, dramatic thunderstorm rolls in like a celebrity making a late entrance.
The rain is less “gentle drizzle” and more “God forgot to turn off the garden hose.” The humidity drops, the air smells like wet pavement and relief, and everyone on your street sighs in collective bliss.
But here’s the trick—the storm lasts exactly 18 minutes. Then the sun comes back out, angrier than before, as if to say, “I was just taking a breather, mate.”
The Evening Reprieve
By 7 PM, the city finally exhales. The temperature drops to a balmy 28°C, which suddenly feels like a champagne breeze after the oven of the day.
Everyone migrates to outdoor bars, rooftops, or backyard barbecues. The sausages sizzle, the beers are frosty, and the mosquitoes become the uninvited guests who won’t take a hint.
You sit there, sticky but happy, and watch the harbour lights flicker. The Opera House glows like a friendly alien spaceship, and you think, “Yeah, this is worth the sweat.”
