Here’s the thing about Stringers: they sell everything. Need a bird feeder shaped like a teapot? They’ve got it. How about a cushion that says “This is my happy plant place”? Obviously.
I once went in for a bag of soil and ended up with a fire pit, three scented candles, and a set of fairy lights. The checkout lady just smiled. She’s seen it all before. We’re all the same.
There’s also a brilliant section for kids. Little plastic trowels, seeds you can grow in a cup—perfect for distracting your offspring while you browse the fancy watering cans. You’re welcome.
The Outdoor Bit (When the Weather Plays Nice)
If you visit on a sunny day, the outdoor area is pure magic. Rows of colourful flowers stretching out like a living rainbow. You’ll see butterflies being dramatic, bees doing their busy thing, and probably a cat sunbathing by the lavender.
The staff are absolute gems. One woman helped me identify a mystery plant that was basically a weed. She didn’t laugh at me—too much. They know their stuff, and they’re happy to chat. No snooty garden-centre vibes here.
And get this: they do workshops. I haven’t tried one yet, but I’m eyeing up the “Pots for Plonkers” class. Bet it’s hilarious. You could learn to pot a succulent without killing it in a week. Revolutionary.
