There is a strange, quiet beauty to running an errand on Christmas Day. The world feels slower, softer. The usual rush of life pauses, and you find yourself sharing a small moment with strangers in a brightly lit aisle. It’s a reminder that even holidays rely on small acts of everyday practicality—the forgotten egg, the burnt-out lightbulb, the sudden urge for a warm coffee.
So if you find yourself out on December 25th, don’t fret. Embrace it. You are part of a quiet community of survivors, navigators, and last-minute saviors. The stores near you are probably open, waiting for you with their fluorescent glow. And that, in its own small way, is a bit of Christmas magic.
