Did you know that the word “funeral” comes from the Latin funus, meaning “death” and “torchlight procession”? It’s a reminder that we’ve always used light to navigate dark times. S Clarke And Son embodies that metaphor—their office lights are always on, even for late-night calls. They keep the torch lit so you don’t have to.
Another quirky fact: Newtownards is home to the Scrabo Tower, a 19th-century landmark visible from miles away. The team often uses it as a meeting point for processions. It’s a local touch that makes the service feel less like a transaction and more like a hometown story.
