Here’s the best part: every response is handwritten. Or at least looks that way. No robotic “Dear Customer” nonsense. It says “Dear [Child’s Name]” in looping, slightly shaky handwriting. Like an old man wrote it after too many mince pies.
The letters also include information about the reindeer. Or updates on Mrs. Claus. One letter once mentioned a “snowblower maintenance issue.” I felt that.

And they use special stamps. Stamps that say “North Pole.” You can’t buy them at the post office. They’re mythical. Like a unicorn, but with a postal code.

You know someone always pushes it. One year, a grown man sent a letter demanding a “new PlayStation and an apology for Brexit.” Royal Mail responded with a polite “try writing to the government.” Rude, but efficient.
Another kid sent a letter written in invisible ink. The elves had to heat it up with a hair dryer. Dedication, folks. That’s dedication.
And yes, they handle letters in languages other than English. They have translators. Or elves with Google Translate. Either way, the reply comes back in the child’s native tongue. Gets me every time.
