Walk. Just walk. The site is a launching pad for miles of trails. You can stomp through heathland, get lost in woods, and emerge looking like a proper explorer. Pack a flask of coffee; you’ll need it.
For the cyclists among us? Bring your bike. The New Forest has paths that are smooth, quiet, and barely uphill. You can cycle to the village of Brockenhurst for a pub lunch. The pubs here serve giant pies. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Is she a history buff? Head to Beaulieu. It’s a fancy-pants village with an abbey and a motor museum. You can look at old cars and then pretend you’re in a Jane Austen novel. Versatile, right?
The Clubhouse & The Tea
There’s a clubhouse on site. You know the drill—it’s warm, has sofas, and serves a decent cup of tea. There’s a little shop, too, if you forgot the all-important Marmite or emergency chocolate. They also do fresh bread in the morning. The smell alone is worth getting out of your sleeping bag.
Honestly, it’s the little things. I’m talking about a proper, hot bacon roll at 9 AM while the ponies watch you from the hedge. It’s basically a Disney movie, but with more mud.
