Twilight Princess is the dark horse of the series. It’s the one where Link turns into a wolf. He also has to team up with a creepy, mischievous imp named Midna.
Midna is the real star. She rides on wolf-Link’s back and cracks jokes. She’s snarky, powerful, and has a secret you definitely forgot about.
This game is also known for its epic horseback sword fights. You ride Epona, charge an enemy, and swing your blade at the exact right moment. It feels like being in a western, but with magic.
Wait, what’s new about this version?
The original HD remake came out on the Wii U in 2016. Remember the Wii U? It was that gamepad-shaped console nobody bought. This new Switch 2 version fixes everything.
You get 60 frames per second instead of the laggy 30. The textures are sharper. The shadows are deeper. And the lighting makes the Twilight Realm look properly creepy again.
There’s also a cheeky bonus. The game includes the entire Wolf Link amiibo dungeon mini-game. You don’t need a plastic toy this time. Just play it directly.
