Let’s start with the quarterback of chaos: Frankie Muniz as Malcolm. He’s not the awkward kid genius anymore—he’s a grown man who’s raced cars and danced on Dancing with the Stars. But can you imagine his deadpan delivery at forty? It’s going to be golden.
Then there’s Bryan Cranston as Hal. Yes, that Bryan Cranston—the guy who turned into Walter White. But here’s the fun part: Hal is the flip side of that coin. He’s the lovable, dancing fool who makes bacon on a roller skate. Seeing him slip back into that goofy energy? That’s pure joy fuel.
And of course, Jane Kaczmarek as Lois. The queen of the raised eyebrow and the terrifyingly effective mom. Rumor has it she’s ready to scream at the boys again. Actually, I think we all need a little Lois energy right now—someone to tell us to stop whining and clean our room.
What About the Brothers? Oh, They’re Back Too
Reese, Dewey, and Francis? Justin Berfield, Erik Per Sullivan, and Christopher Masterson are reportedly in talks. Now, here’s where it gets really fun. Imagine Reese as a middle-aged short-order cook still trying to punch his way out of problems. Or Dewey as a surprisingly chill indie musician who still lives in the basement. Beautiful.
And Francis? He’s probably still failing upward somewhere, married to Piama and running a failing goat farm. The show’s creator, Linwood Boomer, is also involved, which means the smart, weird, heartfelt tone will stay intact. No glossy, fake Hollywood makeover here.
