You’ll say you’ll study over break. You’ll even pack a textbook in your suitcase. Let’s be honest: that book is going to become a coaster for your Christmas Eve whiskey.
Residents reminded tomorrow is the last Christmas posting day for first
You’ll create a group chat called “Study Group 2.0 (For Real This Time).” It will be dead by December 24th. That’s fine. That’s tradition.
And for one glorious month, you won’t think about citations or midterms. You’ll just exist. Eat. Sleep. Argue with your uncle about politics. It’s the most wonderful time of the year precisely because you’re not in class.
A Toast to the Madness
So here’s to that last lecture. The one where you learned nothing but felt everything. The one where the coffee was lukewarm but the camaraderie was hot.
You made it. You sat through the “one more thing” announcements. You nodded at the “assignment extension” that was a lie. You endured.
And now? Now you get to be a full-time festive menace. Go. Eat a gingerbread house. Argue about which version of “Last Christmas” is best. (It’s the Wham! version. It’s always the Wham! version.)
Just remember: when you come back in January, you’ll have to do this all over again. Don’t think about that now. That’s Future You’s problem. Present You has cookies to eat.
Merry Christmas, you absolute legend. You earned this. Now close this browser tab and go enjoy the break. I’ll see you on the other side—probably in the same coffee shop, looking equally confused.
