To be fair, they are trying. They’ve invested in a new digital platform recently, and sometimes—just sometimes—the site works perfectly. You click, it loads, you buy the trousers. A miracle! But the inconsistency is the killer. One day it’s a smooth ride, the next you’re thrown off the horse (or the server). It’s a gamble I’m not always willing to take with my lunch break.
And don’t get me started on the wishlist function. I have a wishlist from 2019. I’m pretty sure some of the items have been discontinued and re-released as “new” since then. It’s a digital graveyard of my abandoned fashion hopes. Thanks for that, M&S.
The Verdict (for now)
So, is there a problem? Yes. Big time. The Marks and Spencer website is a bit like that clunky but charming old family car—you love it, it has sentimental value, but you know it’s going to break down at the worst possible moment. You can’t quit it, but you also can’t fully rely on it.
My advice? Order at 2 AM, when the internet traffic is low and the digital ghosts are asleep. Or, you know, just go to the store. But that requires putting on real trousers, and that’s a whole other article. For now, we wait, hope, and refresh. Good luck out there.
