Here’s the deal: In the United States, the Post Office is closed on Easter Monday. Yes, you read that right. No mail delivery, no retail counter service, and definitely no pity packages for your chocolate emergency.
Why? Because Easter Monday is a federal holiday? Nope. It’s not. But the U.S. Postal Service observes it as a holiday for many of its employees, which means your local branch is locked up tighter than that last Easter egg you hid from the kids. Fun, right?
But Wait—What About Other Countries?
If you live in Canada, the story gets a little spicier. Easter Monday is a federal holiday there, so Canada Post is generally closed. No mail, no packages, just you and your leftover ham.
Jump over to the UK, and it’s the same tune—Royal Mail takes the day off. But here’s the kicker: In Australia, it varies by state. Some places treat it like a public holiday, others don’t. (Because why make things simple, Australia?) So if you’re Down Under, you might want to check your local branch before you make the trip.
