Here’s a wild fact: Lidl’s supply chain is insane. They stock double the sausages before a bank holiday. Why? Because they know you’re grilling. They know your uncle loves bratwurst.
They also move the wine aisle around. You’ll be lost. You’ll find a bottle of Spanish red. You’ll buy it. That’s their plan. Genius, really.
Another tidbit: the “Middle of Lidl” (the random gadget aisle) gets extra weird on holidays. Expect a garden gnome with a soccer ball. Or a foldable kayak. Why? Because you have time to browse.
How to Avoid the Disappointment
Never assume. This is rule one. Check the Lidl website. Use their store locator. It tells you exact hours. Even the weird ones.
Social media is your friend. A local Facebook group will know. Someone always posts, “Is Lidl open today?” And someone always answers with a screenshot. Be that hero.
Or call them. Yes, a human might pick up. It’s old-school. It works. You’ll feel like a detective.
The best hack? Go the day before. Stock up. Freeze the bread. Buy extra gummy bears. You’ll be a bank holiday legend. You’ll never worry again.
