You’re by the sea, so you get that lovely, bracing wind. “Bracing” is a fancy word for “your face will feel like sandpaper.” When the sun shines, it’s magical. You’ll think you’re in the South of France—until a seagull steals your pasty.
Rain? Oh, it rains. A lot. But that’s what the charmingly grumpy pubs are for. Get a pint, watch the fog roll in, and pretend you’re in a moody detective drama. It’s fine.

The Harbour Arm: Where Everyone Goes to Pose
Folkestone Harbour Arm is the town’s living room. You’ve got shipping containers turned into fish ’n’ chip stands, deckchairs, and terrible live music on Sundays. It’s touristy, yes, but locals love it too.
You can walk right to the end and watch the ferries to France. Very romantic. Very windy. You’ll either propose to your partner or lose your hat to the English Channel. Both are memorable.
