Now you need the UniFi Network app. Download it. It’s free, unlike that “free” app that charges you for removing ads. Open the app and let it sniff around for new devices. It will find your AP faster than a dog finds a dropped steak. Tap “Adopt.” Yes, the AP is now legally your digital child.
The app will ask for a Wi-Fi name and password. Be creative. “FBISurveillanceVan” is a classic. But don’t forget the password, or you’ll be typing “IhateWiFi123” on every guest’s phone for the next decade. The AP will reboot once, which feels like watching paint dry, but with more anxiety.
Step 4: Surviving the “It’s Not Working” Panic
Relax. The light on the AP should be solid white. If it’s blue, you’re either a wizard or it’s possessed. If it’s orange, your cat unplugged something. Just reboot the router and try again. This is the Wi-Fi version of “turn it off and on again.”

If you get stuck, imagine the AP is a cranky toddler. Sometimes you just need to unplug it, count to ten, and plug it back in while whispering sweet nothings. You are the master of your domain. The AP will eventually behave.
