Before you grab a giant tube of caulk and go wild, you must find the actual leak. Water is a sneaky little trickster. It can drip on your head in the kitchen but have started its journey three feet up the roof. Rain runs sideways, remember?
Go up into your attic or crawlspace (if you have one) during a rainstorm. Look for water stains, rust trails, or actual drips. Mark the spot with a piece of tape or a chalk mark. Then, go outside and measure up from that mark, straight up the roof slope. That’s your target.
The leak is usually at a screw, a flashing joint, or a seam. Corrugated roofs are basically a series of high ridges and low valleys. Water loves to run in those valleys. Look there first.
