Celery seeds are not poppy seeds. They’re smaller, darker, and meaner.
Do not substitute them on a bagel. That’s a breakfast tragedy waiting to happen.
And don’t confuse them with caraway seeds. Caraway is for rye bread and maybe a witch’s spell. Celery seed is for everything else.
The Salty Sprinkle Rule
Use celery seed on anything that loves salt. Popcorn, roasted chickpeas, grilled fish.
But go easy. A pinch is a punch. A tablespoon is a knockout.
