Astronauts use tethers to avoid floating into the void. That tether has tension. If an astronaut pulls on it, the tension is transmitted to the spaceship. It’s the same formula, just with zero gravity. So T = ma. No weight, no big deal. But if the tether breaks? You’re a human satellite. Best to keep that tension positive.
