Too much water? Don’t panic. Remove the lid and let the rice steam off the extra liquid for 5 minutes. Too dry? Add a splash of hot water, cover, and let it sit for 10 minutes off the heat.
For burned rice (we’ve all been there), place a slice of white bread on top of the rice, cover, and let it sit for 5 minutes. The bread absorbs the burnt aroma. Then serve yourself a second chance.
One last tip: let the rice rest after cooking. Fluff it with a fork, then let it sit uncovered for 2 minutes. This releases steam evenly and prevents that sad, soggy bottom.
