A UK passport is valid for 10 years—unless it’s a child’s (5 years), unless you renewed early (10 years plus old months), unless a country demands spare months (lose the extras). In short: it’s valid until you try to use it somewhere that has a stricter rule.
The golden rule? Renew at least 9 months before expiry if you travel to Europe. For everywhere else, aim for 6 months of validity left. Your travel agent will thank you, and so will your sanity.
