Here’s a spicy fact: the show often overruns its time slot. This drives TV schedulers absolutely bonkers.
If a golden buzzer goes off at the wrong moment, the show runs late. Your 10 p.m. news gets pushed back. Angry Twitter people emerge. Chaos.
But the producers don’t care. They’d rather have an epic, emotional moment than a strict timetable. And you, glued to the sofa, love them for it.
Why You Should Care About the Length
Because it’s a commitment. Watching BGT is like agreeing to a date with your couch. You need snacks. You need a charged remote. You need to warn your family not to talk.
Also, the length proves that talent shows are a sport. You have to have stamina. By minute 80, you’re exhausted. But the winner’s tears make it all worth it.
Next time someone moans, "How long is this on?" just smile. Tell them: "About 90 minutes, plus trauma."
And if you’re watching the final, prepare for the long haul. It’s the TV equivalent of a nine-course meal. You don’t just eat it. You live it.
