You cannot avoid The Dartford Crossing. It’s the bottleneck of the entire system. This is where the M25 stops being a circle and becomes a nightmare. You must pay a toll to cross a bridge or go through a tunnel.
Queues here can add over an hour to your trip. It’s the final boss of the M25. If you beat it, you are a true London warrior. If you don’t, you will know the true meaning of patience.
