Don’t get too cocky. The Bahamas is a commonwealth country with its own rules. You can’t just swim there (though people try). You need a passport, and they will check it.
Also, the Bahamas has 700 islands. Only about 30 are inhabited. So while you can see Bimini from Miami, the famous Atlantis resort in Nassau is a 184-mile journey. Still a short flight, but not a swim.

Some Miami boaters accidentally drift into Bahamian waters. They get a shock when they see a patrol boat. Yes, you’re in a different nation now. The funny part? The water is so clear, you can see the border line. Sort of.
