What about all those “special” cleaners?
Don’t do it. Never spray glass cleaner, alcohol, or anything with ammonia directly onto a modern LED or OLED screen. Those chemicals can strip away the anti-glare coating and leave you with a blotchy, ruined display. I once watched a friend try to clean a laptop screen with Windex, and it looked like a sad, melted painting. Stick to distilled water—just a tiny, tiny spritz onto your cloth, not the screen. Or you can buy a dedicated screen-cleaning spray, but only if it says “safe for coated screens.”
