Head to the BBC Shows and Tours page. It looks boring. It is not. You will see a list of shows, and Strictly is the golden ticket. Click it before your nerves fail you.
You must pick a date. But here is the trick: be flexible. Everyone wants the final. The final has more sequins per square inch than a drag queen convention. Aim for a Tuesday recording. Less competition. More chance.
Fill out the form with your details. They ask for your name, address, and a few questions about your personality. Lie if you must. Just say you love ballroom and hate fake tan. They love that.
The Brutal Wait
Then you wait. And wait. Your phone becomes a torture device. Every email notification makes you leap like Anton du Beke. Do not check your spam folder. That is where happiness goes to die.
The wait can be months. Seriously. Some people apply for the current series and get tickets for the next one. It’s like time travel, but with more sequins. You might forget you even applied. Then, BAM. An email that changes everything.
The email says: “Congratulations. You have been allocated tickets.” You will scream. Your cat will judge you. That is fine.
