Every now and then, Jell-O digs in its heels. You’ve done the warm bath, the knife, the wiggle—nothing. Don’t get angry. Getting angry will only break more Jell-O. Instead, put the entire mold back in the fridge for 10 minutes to firm up again. Then repeat the warm bath step once more. This double-dip method works almost every time. It’s like giving your dessert a second chance to cooperate.
If that still fails, you can try dipping just the bottom of the mold in hot water for 3 seconds—but be very careful. You’re basically performing Jell-O surgery at that point. Sometimes it’s okay to accept a small crack and cover it with whipped cream. Nobody has to know.
