Let’s not forget that Taylor Swift has won the Songwriter of the Year award multiple times at the Nashville Songwriters Association, the BMI Awards, and the Grammys. She’s also the youngest person ever to win the Hal David Starlight Award (and the only woman to do it solo). These aren’t given to people who just “show up to the studio.”
Does Taylor Swift Write Her Own Songs? Full List of Her Songwriting
And if you’re still skeptical, consider this: in 2026, she broke the record for most number-one albums by a female artist—and every album had her name on every song. The numbers don’t lie, even if some trolls on Twitter try to.
So, Does She Write Her Own Songs?
Absolutely. Yes. With a capital Y, a confetti explosion, and a cat named Olivia Benson nodding in agreement. Taylor Swift is to songwriting what Dolly Parton is to wigs—iconic, original, and impossible to fake.
Now, the next time someone asks, “But really, does Taylor write her own songs?” you can smile, take a sip of your coffee, and say: “She writes them so hard that she re-writes them years later just to reclaim them. That’s a level of ownership most of us can’t even dream of.”
And here’s the uplifting part: Taylor’s journey is a reminder that you can be the author of your own story, too. She didn’t wait for permission or validation—she just started writing, messy pages and all. Whether you’re writing songs, emails, or a text to your crush, remember: your voice is the only one that can tell your truth. And if Taylor Swift can turn a scarf into a national treasure, imagine what you can do with your own unique spark. Go write something that matters—you’ve got this.
