So, to put your worries to rest: Kroger didn’t change their name. You just saw a confusing sign or visited one of their fancy cousins in another state. The empire is still standing, still selling you things you definitely don’t need but absolutely want.
Next time you see a sign that says “Baker’s” or “City Market,” just nod knowingly. Ah, yes, Kroger in disguise. Like Clark Kent with a slightly different pair of glasses. It’s still the same mild-mannered grocery store that will judge you for buying a single banana.
Now, go forth and shop. Your list still says “milk, eggs, bread, and that one thing you forgot to write down.” The name on the building might be a mystery, but your hunt for a good snack at 9pm is a constant, beautiful truth. And that’s all that really matters.
