Let’s be real—campsite toilets can be a gamble. Cote Ghyll? Immensely clean. Like, “someone just scrubbed them with a toothbrush” clean. Shower blocks are warm, spacious, and have proper pressure.
There’s a laundry room too. Because muddy kids and rainy Yorkshire walks happen. Honestly, it’s a lifesaver if you’re a serial over-packer like me.
They also have a little shop. You can grab milk, eggs, and that emergency pack of biscuits. Priorities, people.

Why the Location is Pure Gold
You’re literally on the edge of the Dales. Famous walks are right on your doorstep? Yes. The Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent peaks? A short drive or a long, satisfying stomp.
Feeling adventurous? Ribblehead Viaduct is twenty minutes away. You can pretend you’re in a Harry Potter scene. Or just take a photo for the ‘gram—no judgment here.
The local village, Clapham, is a five-minute walk. It has a pub. Of course it has a pub. The “New Inn” does proper cask ale and chips that’ll cure any hike-induced grumpiness.
