Close the lid. You don’t need the laptop screen on. Once you start casting, you can simply close the MacBook, and the movie will keep playing on the TV. It saves battery and makes the space feel clean.
Mind the audio lag. Sometimes Bluetooth speakers and AirPlay have a tiny, terrible delay. If you notice lips moving out of sync, try a wired connection or check your TV’s audio settings for a “lip sync” feature.
Use “Mirror” vs. “Extend.” Mirroring shows your laptop screen exactly. Extending turns your TV into a second monitor. Dragging a movie to the TV while keeping your email on the laptop? That’s the peak of modern multitasking.
