So here’s your cheat sheet: Post offices are NOT open on Easter Friday. No mail delivery. No counter service. Your only hope is a self-service kiosk or a very patient third-party carrier. If you want to be a hero, buy your stamps on Thursday. Put them in your car. Tape them to your forehead if you have to—just avoid the Friday scramble.
And if you do find yourself stranded outside a locked post office like I did, take a breath. Laugh at yourself. The Easter bunny doesn’t mail gifts, after all.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a birthday gift to deliver next week. I’m thinking of sending it by carrier pigeon. At least they don’t take holidays.
