First stop: the infrared sauna. It’s not the kind of sauna where you sit and sweat next to a grunting stranger—it’s gentle, like a warm hug from a zen robot. You lie on a heated bench, and your muscles start apologizing for every time you carried a heavy shopping bag.
Then there’s the outdoor pool, which sounds terrifying until you realize it’s heated. Floating on your back, staring at the Bedfordshire sky, you feel like a human croissant—warm, buttery, and completely content. I saw a man floating so still I thought he was a decoration.
The “Experience Showers” Are Weirder Than You Think
These aren’t your average showers. One blasts you with cold water from all angles while you stand there shrieking like a startled cat. Another one mists you with lavender so thick you could almost taste it—and I nearly did.
I accidentally stepped into the “rain walk” and got drenched from head to toe, but you know what? It was refreshing. I walked out feeling like a damp but enlightened garden gnome. No regrets.
